Fiat500 Takes Over NYT

The Fiat500 (both old and "Nuova") dominates the NYT Automobiles sections this weekend. They rave(!) about the USA spec version (actually made in Mexico) calling it "solid" and "comfortable." A Fiat!?! Have a look here (But the NYT fee's are on you.)

I wonder why the Italians phased out this car in some markets especially the U.S. Although, this is a mini car and Americans are known to be huge but they should not be as far from the body built of Europeans. This is a nice car although compact it serves its purpose in lots of ways like in parking ( small space for a small car), traffic (small cars has more chances of getting through a traffic jam than a big one), women (I believe that women would prefer a compact car rather than those big ones, easy to maneuver). I love Fiats.
